Privacy Policy
Last revised: October 2026 • Compliant with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)
1. Browser Geolocation & Location Data
DepartureClock uses the W3C Geolocation API solely to detect your nearby bus stops, train stations, and ferry terminals upon your explicit, on-demand click ('Locate Nearby Stops' or 'Use My Current Location'). Coordinates obtained from your device are sent to our reverse-geocoding endpoint strictly to identify the nearest Australian suburb and transit stops. We do not track, profile, log, or persist your real-time geographic coordinates.
2. No Account Required for Transit Search
Users are not required to create an account, register, or disclose personal identifying information to search timetables, inspect departure boards, plan cross-network journeys, or view live vehicles.
3. Analytics & Technical Telemetry
Standard non-identifying server logs (such as request method, URL path, response status, and general user-agent) are processed strictly for uptime monitoring, cache performance tuning, and detecting upstream transit API latency. No personal data is sold or shared with commercial advertising brokers.
4. Third-Party Mapping & Government Feeds
Mapping tiles are loaded securely via OpenStreetMap and CARTO under permitted attribution licenses. Inquiries regarding our data handling may be sent through our contact page.
