About DepartureClock

Bus, train and tram timetables for commuters, visitors and regional travellers in Australia, the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and India.

Project Mission & Objectives

DepartureClock was founded with a straightforward goal: make public transport timetables easy to find in one place. Without it, travellers have to jump between separate operator sites and apps in every city and country.

We unify official General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) static timetables, GTFS-Realtime Protocol Buffer streams, and state journey planning APIs into one seamless, fast, accessible interface.

Our Core Principles

  • Absolute Data Integrity: We never simulate, hardcode, or fabricate vehicle arrivals, platform assignments, or route geometries. If an operator provides real-time GPS feeds, we display verified delay indicators. If an operator publishes weekly schedules, we clearly state the timetable status.
  • Nationwide Geographic Scope: We cover capital cities, regional hubs, rural outback towns, and external island territories. Where a remote locality lacks public transit, we explicitly disclose the transport limitations.
  • Open Access & Accessibility: Mobile-first design, step-free access indicators, screen reader compliance, and transparent links to official booking systems.
